Old friends

Last weekend, I took a trip up to Kennett Square, PA, where I lived from 1st grade until the summer before 11th grade. I say that I'm from North Carolina, but I really only went to 2 years of high school there, and I spent the majority of my life growing up in southeastern Pennsylvania. I don't get to visit that area very often, so I really love and appreciate the times when I do. It's about 2 hours from DC, and I went up only for a night.

It was so fun! I met up with my friends Alicia, Lindsay and Chrissy. We all made dinner together at Lindsay's new townhouse (she'll soon be married to Brent in August!!) in Lancaster, PA. We also loved on her sweet dog, Gunner :)



And in case you didn't know, Lancaster is known as the Amish Country...there's a huge community of Amish. It's really beautiful there with farms and good ole home cooking, cute bed & breakfasts, and good quality furniture made by the Amish. It would be a great place to visit for a fun weekend away. If you're driving a car, watch out for the horse and buggies on the road!







We had a great time laughing and catching up. We also took a walk around Lindsay's neighborhood in downtown Lancaster. It was really cute with all these older colonial townhomes. We even passed an old Tavern restaurant that existed during the Civil War times and is still open today. It seemed pretty popular...I'm hoping to go next time we go up to Lancaster.









On Saturday, before I left, I drove by our old stomping grounds like our old high school and our old house.
