Fun Fall

Fall is definitely my favorite season of the year. Of course, as a kid up until the end of high school, I always defaulted to Summer being my favorite. Summer is definitely fun, but once you don't have a Summer BREAK, life changes and my favorite season changed. Fall has been so beautiful in the Blacksburg area! It's been so fun seeing God's beauty in all the changing colors, the mountains, and all the comforts of Fall. Who doesn't love a good fire, a cup of hot cider or hot tea, getting out cozy sweaters and cooking with the delicious seasonal veggies and fruit?

October completely flew by. The first weekend, we were SO excited to have Emily, Tim and Abby come visit us for the first time in Blacksburg! We had a blast and the weather was awesome. Unfortunately, they don't get to visit the Burg as often as they'd like, and so they were pumped to hit all their favorite spots...and I'm actually surprised all that we got to do in one weekend! We got coffee and muffins at Bolos, took a long walk around the VT campus and relaxed in the sunshine on the drill field, ate a late lunch at El Rodeo, then watched football and visited with some awesome friends: Lauren, Steve and Shana! That night, we had some of Tim's friends over and grilled burgers, then went to the Cellar to hang out with more friends visiting for the weekend. Of course, we could not get enough of Abby. She is such a great gal, really cheerful and happy, hardly ever cries, very curious, and loves to play. Did I mention she loves to cuddle and read, too? I love her. I am practically begging for Emily and Tim to take a vacation and let Bryce and I hang out with her.

The next two weekends were fun because we got to stay in town (which is once in a blue moon) and relax. We went hiking with our friends, Katherine and Bynum, at McAfee's Knob. It was perhaps one of the best times of the year to go. The leaves were amazing and the weather couldn't be better. It was sunny and low 70s, completely clear, although the forecast had called for exactly the opposite.
