I "say-d" that

We took Carter for a haircut for the first time here in Oregon (which was over a month ago now).  They each got balloons and once we brought them home, of course, they accidentally let go in the one high ceiling room in the house.  After many tears and a long meltdown, Maddie said, "It's okay.  We can get Jack to get them down."  "Who is Jack?" I said.  "You know, Jack be nimble, Jack be quick.  Jack jump over the candlestick."

Conversation about quiet time (we have lots of these every day):
"Mommy, how about I pretend to be a grown up and you go up to my room for quiet time by yourself."
"So you will be by yourself down here?  What are you going to do down here?"
"Actually, can I just go up with you to my room for your quiet time?"
"Our quiet time is for us to play quietly by ourselves."
"It's really hard to be by myself and hard to wait.  Can I just be with you pleeeease?  Is that a good idea?"

One of Maddie's sayings is "all day" when she really likes something or it's her favorite.  On the topic of colors, she often says, "I like pink and purple all day."

While Carter was taking a nap, Maddie and I were in the office.  She was standing on a chair looking out the window at the front yard while I was sewing some curtains for her room.  She said, "I really like plants and flowers all day.  So they can grow and grow and grow into the whole world of flowers."  So cute.  She likes helping me water the plants and flowers most days.  She also likes to check on them (especially the strawberry plants to grab any ripe ones).

"Bye mom.  C'mon Carter.  We're taking a trip to Earthland." (as she hopped on their little red trike, one on the seat and one sitting on the back)

"Mommy!!!!!" (frantic Maddie).  "We have to give the flower more water so he can grow a brain!!!"

"On stage" being silly
For Carter, a few things:

Mickey Mouse= Mo mo nah
yellow=lellow

Lately, he's been calling us "Mommia" and "Daddia" which is funny.  Not sure where that came from.

 They help me all the time in the kitchen. (Lord, help me!)  It's a great mixture of fun with more stress and mess.

These next two were just yesterday.  She was busy "making a home" for the snail by covering him in mint and parsley leaves.  And then there's Carter's sweet closed-mouth grin that melts me.
