Day 5: Drive home

We drove the 6 hour ride home from Nice which turned into an 8 hour drive with the two stops.  It's become a habit to stop at McDonald's to eat lunch on long car rides.  It doesn't get much easier or quicker than McDonald's with kids.  Maddie can jump on the booth seat and eat her meal on her own time.  Carter can be loud and bang on the high chair.  We don't have to wait on anything or pay extra for a waiter.  The best part: the happy meal comes with an exciting toy that keeps their attention while were eating.

Details of the trip:

We stayed in Mont Boron in an apartment off of airbnb.

Day 1: Hiking from apartment to downtown Nice-probably about 5 miles total

  • walked around and ate sandwiches on the beach then took the bus back

Day 2: Half day to Eze- about 20 minute drive

  • walked around the medieval village for just a couple hours

Day 3: Christmas Eve-a couple hours walking around Nice

  • the beach, the Port, Promenade des Anglais or the "boardwalk", Place Massena-a big pedestrian plaza, Promenade du Paillon-huge park area with play grounds and fountains, Vielle Ville or Old Town Nice

Day 4: Christmas Day- about 10 minute drive-a couple hours walking around Villefranche-sur-Mer

  • walked along the beach and through Old Town
