Visit from Mimi and Pops

Mimi and Pops (Bryce's parents) came to visit us in mid October.  I'm glad that they had a chance to come over before we left.  Unfortunately, Maddie was sick for the beginning part and then I got sick for the last couple days.  But we got out as much as we could.  We took them around the Zurich on one of their first days.

Mimi and Pops came with lots of special little toys and treats like My Little Ponies, new Play doh things, and lots of fruit snacks.  Even though she wasn't feeling well, Maddie enjoyed having tea parties and playing.

Mimi brought "poo dough" complete with form.  Ha!  Maddie thought it was hilarious.

We took them to Konstanz, Germany for the day, but it was horribly rainy and cold.  We basically walked around the mall and a little around town, ate dinner, and went back home.  BUT, Maddie put on her cute face and got the grandparents to buy her a deluxe baby stroller.

She LOVES that thing.
Pops got his fair share of fresh roasted chestnuts next door at the shopping center.
We had to take them to the mountains because, come on.  We went to Santis peak, which was one that we hadn't been to before.  It wasn't a hike at all, just park at the cable car station, go up, walk around the top, eat at the restaurant, and go back down.  This peak had amazing views, but the top really didn't have much to do and the rails really had me nervous with Maddie and all the ice/snow.  I think Pilatus is still my favorite and it was so close to where we lived.

This day was the most beautiful day of their visit.  It was really chilly, but blue skies!

Bryce didn't have many more vacation days left, so one of the days, I took them just 20 minutes away to Jucker Farms, one of the best (and only) pumpkin farms in the area.  It reminded me of American style pumpkin farms, but even a little nicer.

They had a really nice cafeteria style buffet restaurant, everything fresh from the farm including pumpkin soup, pumpkin risotto, and fresh breads.

We had been to Jucker Farms before but this was the first time we carved pumpkins.  It was their first time carving pumpkins!

Maddie loved these pumpkins and thought it was so fun to have one happy and one scary.  She kept saying that the scary one was Pops' pumpkin and the happy one was hers.

It was a great time.  I'm so glad they made it out, even if it was cold and a couple of us got sick!  Sweet memories :-)
