Hope everyone had a great 4th of July. Ours was pretty chill. We weren't in DC, we were in Blacksburg. We went to the parade downtown in the afternoon and it literally rained on our parade. It was a pretty small parade with not as much candy throwing as we had hoped, but maybe they just weren't throwing to adult-looking people like us.
It poured for a few hours, so Bryce and I went home and just watched a movie that had been sitting on our coffee table for awhile from netflix.

It was SO GOOD. It's an independent film, so a little different than your usual movie, but we both loved it.
Then we filled ourselves of burgers, brats, watermelon, and corn on the cob only to finish it off with homemade strawberry ice cream. The ice cream was good, not super sweet, but light and a little tart. I liked it.
We walked it all off to the top of the golf course and watched the fireworks with a bunch of friends.
Someday I hope we go to DC to watch the fireworks...I still can't believe we were living there and we didn't go that year!
