About two weeks ago, we hopped in the car after our childbirth education class to drive straight to the Outer Banks. We were so excited to get to the beach and spend the week with family (the first time we would get to vacation with Kim and her daughters, Amanda and Laura, and Laura's husband and baby Ellerie).

Gotta get the family pic!
Now Dad and Kim have 6 kids altogether, which means they will probably have an abundance of grandkids eventually. For now, there were only three: Abby, Aaron, and Ellerie (and of course one still in the belly).

Yay, we got one of those smiles on camera!

Sooo cute!!
We got a few full beach days in the sun. Love the beach.

Aaron is always eating. He is happiest when there is food in his hand (or when he is swimming, or when he is playing with Papa.) Ok, he's a very happy kid. He also loves toast with his butter.

The boys being boys
We spent a lot of time out on the beach, in the pool, and watching the Olympics nonstop (especially on the 3 days that were rainy/cloudy).
We were just down the street from Uncle David, Aunt Judy, and Aunt Christie's families, so we had a couple dinners together including a Mexican fiesta night.

Queso fundido, refried beans, enchiladas, carnitas, Spanish rice
Later in the week, Dad and Kim did a delicious seafood night with steamed crabs, crab cakes, scallops, and shrimp. Sooo good!
From what I can see, he is pretty excited about being a dad and will be an incredible one. Just a couple more weeks and she will be here!
I'm so thankful we got to go to the beach. We have a lot of special memories in Corolla having grown up going there every summer for 10+ years with my Mom's side of the family.
