| "I'm so excited to be walking!" |
What's new...
She's walking! She's walking! It's now official since she chooses to walk everywhere now. She's getting faster and she's very confident. We are getting used to bruised knees and a bump on her head since falls are becoming a regular occurence. Most of the time, she falls because she's trying to go faster than her legs can carry her. She's also learning things like ("point to mama's...") nose, mouth, and eyes. She blabbers a lot but no actual words yet other than dada (a lot) and mama (occasionally).

| I love this little outfit. Looks like she's ready to go to school. |
She still loves to climb the stairs. She really mastered coming down the stairs this month. I used to keep them blocked off, but of course, blocking them off just made them tempting and very interesting to her. We were just using a bench at the bottom of the stairs, which she learned to crawl under or push aside. So, I took the bench away. For about 2 weeks, she was on the stairs every single moment (it seemed like it at least). Soon, they lost their excitement and now she's off to other things (like trying to figure out how to climb on top of the couch or on top of the dining table). We've left the bench away and now we have nothing there. OH MY GOSH! You may be thinking. But honestly, she pretty much doesn't care about the stairs now unless I go up and then she follows. I keep a close watch on her, so it doesn't worry me at all. Plus, if she is ever getting into anything not allowed, she gets really quiet for maybe 30 seconds and gives it away (she loves the cabinet under the sink with cleaning supplies...now that is something we need to take care of!). Discipline has definitely started in the Whited household. This is just now getting interesting...
I took this video right after the one above. She is really into giving everything a kiss. Everything. We went to get the mail and she was bending down trying to kiss a leaf on the ground.

Nothing new here...about 3 meals a day and eating more and more of what we eat. She will literally eat anything. If she sees us eating it, she wants it. I think pureed baby foods were much easier because now, it feels like we're actually preparing a meal for her too which takes a little thought and effort. One new thing was giving her a snack cup to pull crackers out of. She loves it! She also really loves any kind of cheddar cracker and raisins.
Sleeping
She goes to bed around 7:30/8pm and wakes up at 6:30am almost on the dot every morning. She's a good sleeper. She usually takes 2 naps a day, one longer than the other. The last few days, it's been a longer morning nap (1.5 hours) and a 30-40 min nap in the afternoon, but usually it's the opposite. She's also teething (again) with more upper teeth breaking through, so the last few days have not been very fun around here! Clingy, fussing nonstop, and just not happy.

Growth:
Birth - 6 lb 3 oz , 20 inches
1 month - 8 lb , 21.5 inches
2 months - 8 lb 14 oz , 23 inches
4 months - 12 lb, 4 oz, 24 inches
6 months - 15 lb, 12 oz, 25.75 inches
9 months - 18 lb, 5 oz, 27.5 inches
Not sure what she weighs now, but she feels heavier when we carry her up the stairs. My guess is about 22 lbs now. We just bought her a new carseat since our infant carseat only holds up to 25 lbs. That was part of her birthday present from the (boring) parents. Good thing she doesn't know any better right now! Our baby isn't so teeny tiny anymore :-)
