At the end of July, Madison and I flew out to North Carolina to go to the beach with my family. It's been tradition ever since I can remember. We went with my mom's side of the family for probably 15 years. We always went to the Outer Banks, NC growing up. In the last couple years, we've started going to Ocean Isle, NC. We love it. It has a non-commercial, small town feel, but you can drive over the bridge and have everything right there. All the movie theaters and restaurants of Myrtle Beach are just 25 minutes away.
This year was a little last minute planning, so unfortunately my dad was only there for a couple days and neither Kim or Amanda could come at all. Sad! Hopefully next year is more planned. Bryce wasn't able to take off work, so I really really missed him all week. It didn't feel like any prior vacation I had taken...with a baby taking 2 naps a day, all the gear and prep to go to the beach, only to be at the beach about an hour a day, it was work! I'll be excited to have Bryce's help next year. BUT it was still a great time being with family, watching the cousins play together, and we even had a girls night out while the guys watched Madison and the other kids slept. (hopefully THAT becomes a tradition too!)
