When we left Portland for good, we didn't go straight to Switzerland.
We detoured to North Carolina and spent almost 2 full weeks at the beach. One week with Bryce's family in SC, then one week with my family in NC, but both at the beach. It was a breath of fresh air and relaxation to have a vacation in between jobs. I would recommend a vacation or days off if you are ever in between jobs and have the choice. It helps with the stress and gives you a little break. It was the longest time Bryce has had with both kids since most days he is at work. It was also a really special time with both of our families.
Here are a few photos from North Myrtle Beach with the Whiteds...
Just a tiny little guy at about 7 weeks old.
The balcony of our condo was a great place to hang out (and play in the water) when it was too hot out at the beach.
I especially loved spending more time around this cutie. Wish we lived closer so Aunt Kiki could play with him and his cars more!
Carter seemed like such a newborn compared to Emma!
These two were so cute in the stroller together. We got asked a few times if they were twins.
It was great weather, but we weren't quite used to the Carolina heat and humidity. We would only spend an hour or two outside at a time.
You can really tell by this picture, but Maddie unfortunately was sick for almost over a week. We didn't know what it was for a few days with fever and congestion. Finally we took her to the doctor and she had an inner ear infection. I felt so bad! It didn't slow her down though.
The Kingston Plantation condos where we stayed had multiple pools and a fun water park area for kids. To my surprise, they loved the big water slide.
I'm so bummed that we didn't get a Whited family photo of all of us while we were at the beach! It will have to be next time.
Here are a few photos from Ocean Isle Beach with the Adams/Beck side...
One of the reasons why I love going to OIB...the golf carts! We rented one for the week. We took it out for ice cream a number of times.
| She's annoyed that we took her out of Uncle David's truck bed for the picture. |
More great weather. We love playing in the shallow pools of water left at low tide.
Blue eyes
It was amazing to have the pool at the house we rented. Our days were tough: beach in morning, lunch and naps for kids while parents hang out at the pool, then pool in the afternoons.
We forgot to put the swim diaper on her before she got in. Can you tell?
Little look alikes with that curly hair
We also loved hanging out on the top deck in the evenings. (Take me back...)
I also got to take some pictures of Emily's family out on the beach one evening. I'm pretty excited that they even asked me to take pictures of them! Love them so much and wish we lived closer.
The oldest coolest cousin that is followed around by the little ones-
Out of probably 100 photos I took of their family, this one is my favorite. They crack me up.
Nana bought 4th of July outfits for all the kids. I love this picture of them with all the grand kids.

THESE PHOTOS WERE AMAZING!!!! Wow, can I come next time?! Your kids are so lucky to have so many cousins close to their age on both sides of the family! What awesome memories for their whole lives. I'm pretty jealous (both for myself since all my cousins were older, and also for my kids!)
ReplyDeletePS your pics of Emily's fam turned out sooooo beautifully!!!
