No place like home

Home is a funny term.  It's been weird saying "it's nice to be home" in our apartment here in Switzerland.

Well, this time, I'm talking about home where our families are and where we spent a couple weeks in September.  With Aaron getting married, we decided to make our trip back to the states during the wedding and spend the holidays here since that would be a lot of money to spend flying back and forth and a lot with the kids.  We haven't had the best luck with traveling.  In July, when we flew from Portland to the east coast to the beach, Maddie had a fever, congestion, and the ear infection for a little over a week.  Carter had what we thought was a fever for a few days and we actually took him to the ER (because of health insurance and it just seemed best since urgent cares were closed).  Turned out that our rectal thermometer wasn't accurate and he didn't have a fever.  BUT it made for a rough trip on the kids.  Then this time traveling back to the east coast from Switzerland, Maddie got bronchitis and Carter got roseola with fevers and all.  It was a very rough plane right back (with 3 legs, vomit, and fevers from both).  Oh, and Maddie started getting her 2 year molars during our visit.  Anyways, besides all that, it was such a fun trip!!  We just don't want to put the kids through tons of long travel too often.

We spent the first 6 days in North Carolina and then the next in West Virginia with the Whiteds.

In North Carolina, most of the pictures we took were wedding prep, rehearsal, and a few at the wedding.  We did get some other cute ones--

She wanted to help Papa shave...

And she helped Nana get the flowers ready for the wedding...

Such a fun little group of cousins...

I don't remember if I included this in the wedding post, but these two just so happened to be twinsies for the rehearsal dinner.

In West Virginia, it was the first time in almost two years that we were ALL together, the four boys, the three wives, and the grandkids (now six!).  The crazy thing is, the first three grandkids were born within four months and the second set of grandkids were born within 3 months.

It was so fun to get the kids together.

Mimi and Pops have a lot of fun toys.  Ice cream, Dora on the tube, and sitting in a fun truck.

Apples right from the tree

The golf cart was such a hit.  So many rides.

We also celebrated Maddie's birthday (third time!) and it was so fun.

Ashley and Brant were able to come down for the weekend.  It was so great to see everyone!
