First Haircuts!

(Maddie, 2.5 years, and Carter, 13 months)

While we were home visiting, we scheduled their first ever haircuts.

Before haircuts, they were both looking scraggly.

I was excited to get his hair trimmed.  I was nervous that cutting her hair would cause her to lose all the curl.

He did so well.  We gave him a lollipop and he sat there completely still, even when she used the razor along the back and ear area.

Maddie watched him and then sat very seriously on the counter for her haircut.  She was very focused and maybe a little nervous like she was waiting for it to hurt.

Lollipops all around! (and sticky fingers, faces, clothes, and carseat)

Conclusion: the first haircuts didn't seem like such a big deal once we did them.  The anticipation leading up was certainly unnecessary, but expected from a mommy with her two babies.

Good news: her curls are alive and well.

  1. So so cute. They both were so still and concentrated! I know Will could use a haircut (have you seen that scraggly head lately?!) but also want him to have long hair, so I'm not sure whether to push through this awkward phase or even it up THEN push through. Decisions, decisions. Addie on the other hand shall never have a haircut ever. Because I don't think anyone is qualified/brave enough to take that mop on!
