My kids hate being strapped down to anything, so there's usually crying and fussing even with abundant snacks. But I'm hoping that the more we ride, the more enjoyable the rides will be for all of us. For now, I try to keep bike rides under an hour.
I'm really enjoying the bikes. Bryce made fun of me when we were trying out bikes at the store because I was so unnatural and awkward on the bike. The last bike I owned was hot pink with streamers coming out of the handle bars.
| He HATES his helmet. She does fine if she's in the seat on the back of my bike. |
We hung out by the river for a couple hours, played in the water, fed the ducks, ate more snacks, people watched, and then rode back home.

mary virginia also HATES the helmet. before she gets in the bike trailer tom gives her a HUGE pep talk about not fussing, but she always screams. david's cool with it, so i guess they just need to get older :)
ReplyDeletei'm impressed that you take them out, i consider the bike trailer a daddy thing!
So, the last few rides, I don't make Carter wear his helmet (as long as we won't be on any main roads) and he does SO much better. Maddie understands the helmet but if she wants to show that she's frustrated or mad, she unhooks her seatbelt in the bike seat!!! That little turkey. They are getting better...I think. Ha! It's definitely a good workout for me with our gear, water, and kids!
DeleteThat river is so nice!! We got bikes to get around Fort Collins this summer, and it has been marvelous! Except for certain situations where it would be nice to have a car (like in cold rain and when we need to go far or be lots of places in a short amount of time). We are really looking forward to biking around Blacksburg!
