On Saturday the weekend before last, in the middle of our "H Reunion", we had a bridal shower for Dionne. Soo excited for Dionne and Daniel to be married! They are great together. It was fun seeing Dionne go from bridesmaid to bride-mode.
Let me note that her favorite gift was a dish towel with cats on it (that she registered for). Dionne has a serious cat obsession.
We had a lot of really good food. And a lot of left overs. I'm not the best at estimating how much to make and how much people will eat. I don't know about you, but I always go to showers hungry because the food is usually really good! I think I've also inherited some of the overestimating-of-needed-food-for-get-togethers that comes from the Adams side of my family. Also, let me note that Meredith made the darn good chocolate cake from the cake doctor. Ok, I was glad to have leftovers.
Let's just say she would be fine if the wedding was tomorrow. Daniel lives in Slovenia. Don't know where it is? Join the club. It's far away, 3 hours from Venice, Italy, actually. They have been apart since they started dating, and actually even since they met. She was able to go out and visit him over Christmas, but since then, they live on Skype and Facetime. Long distance relationships are hard but so worth it in the end! Bryce and I would know, having dated and being engaged long distance the entire time until the wedding day. But July 15th will be here before you know it, Dionne! Congratulations! We are so happy for you!
