We spent an afternoon by the river laying on a blanket and wishing it was warm enough to be in our bathing suit. Some girls were in their bikinis, but come on, it was in the high 60s with on and off sunshine. I had my sweatshirt and a good book.

Bryce worked on papers to publish while I read at one of our favorite spots: Mill Mountain. In college, I only ever went there for coffee or their delicious chocolate chip scones. We've discovered their chicken salad sandwich. So good.

The garden: Onions are alive and growing. Beets are struggling and taking forever to grow. Lettuce looks good, growing better now that the weather is warmer. I went crazy a couple weeks ago at Walmart and bought cucumber, parsley, basil, bean, cilantro, zinnia, lavender, salvia, and cosmos seeds. Planted some of the cucumber, parsley and beans. They are all growing strong inside until this weather straightens out. Those taller ones are the beans (taken last week).

They actually grew so fast (about 1+ inch/day) that I decided to transport them into the garden outside. They are about a foot tall now! Oh, and that's a strawberry plant on the left. I have 3 of those. I just put them in pots outside yesterday. Hopefully they grow more than they have in the last 2 weeks. I just started some cilantro, pepper, tomato, and zinnia seeds inside. My goal is to have some flowers that I can put in vases this summer. I guess I'm becoming a gardener. I like how it can be as low key as you want it to be and it's relaxing. Plus, seeds are so cheap that I don't feel bad if I mess them up or they don't do well.
I made scones the other day. They were awesome (for the first couple days). Then we found ourselves eating 1-2 scones a day since there were so many. We even froze some and gave some away. It's hard cooking for 2 with some recipes and our freezer is only so big.
I want your life right now. :)
