Ever since I had Madison, I haven't really read books for pleasure. Yes, I've read and skimmed plenty of baby sleep training books, parenting books, even a baby food guide. But as for pleasure reading, probably less than 3 actual books.
In the last 2 months, I've been reading more than I have since I was studying education for my masters. Reading (like blogging many times), doesn't make the cut during my 24 hour days. It does make the list of "things to do when I have more free time way later in life when I'm not so busy but who really knows." Lately though, or since having Carter, I have a hard time clearing my thoughts and falling asleep. I've been reading just 15 minutes every evening right before I turn out the light. I'm really enjoying it.
Books I've recently read:
The Sound of Gravel by Ruth Wariner
The Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
Books on my list to read:
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
Brooklyn by Colm Toibin
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
When Breath becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi
Anyways, I want some good recommendations! Of course, I've looking some up on Amazon and "must read" lists of the year, but I love getting recommendations from friends who have actually read the book. So, if you have any, I would love them!
Also, what are your thoughts on the Good Reads website?
i read 52 books the year david was born (bc i didn't have a smart phone and i read while nursing. oh and also i didn't have other children so i read while nursing) and now i don't think i've read since mary virginia was born!
