We spent Christmas this year with the Whiteds in Parkersburg, WV. It was our first time (married) spending Christmas in WV. Last year, we were in the Outer Banks, NC with the Adams family having a beachy Christmas.

Connie was a WHIZ at making Chex mix, all variations including original, praline crunch, and white chocolate covered.
But we, too, tried our hand at a few things.

*note: I was sure to let the husband know that his beard was out of control at that point. He trimmed it shortly after break.
We left on Friday, December 18th, which also happened to be the first big snow storm that hit Virginia. Somehow I convinced Bryce that we HAD to leave that day. It had started snowing around 2:30 p.m., and we left right around 3:00 p.m. Within 30 minutes, we were saying, "Why did we have to leave today? Should we turn around?" The roads were getting really bad really fast! What is normally about a 3 hour drive turned into more than 6 hours. For probably 2 hours, we were going up and then down a mountain near the ski resort, Winterplace, only driving 10 miles/hour. Thankfully, we got to Parkersburg safe and sound.
We got to stay for 9 days, Friday to Sunday. On Monday, Rachel, Connie and I had a really fun day shopping in Columbus, Ohio at an awesome outdoor mall, Easton Town Center.
Harley, Roger's new black lab puppy (as of Thanksgiving), got a lot of love that week.

They are best friends. He goes to work with Roger every day and I bet Roger wishes Harley could hang out inside more, but the pup patrol doesn't allow it (yet). But he did try... (poor guy)
Someone was really excited to get a new little game. Let me personally thank my little brother for getting Bryce into "COD" or what the rest of us call it, "Call of Duty," on Xbox.
However, it doesn't bother me too much, because if he wants to go on for a little while, I can catch up on Martha Stewart Living, read cookbooks and recipes online that I'd like to try, or think about crafts and projects I would love to do.
Connie is one of only 2 Christmas babies I know, and we celebrated her birthday with a rich Williams & Sonoma chocolate cookie cake with buttercream frosting. Yum.
...aand it snowed more! (But not more than 6 or 7 inches in Parkersburg.)
Sounds fun! We too got stuck in the winter storm. I left work around 3 and what usually takes me 10 minutes to get home took me 45!!! We also had to push back going to NY by a day b/c nothing was cleared!!!
