Just to give you a few interesting facts about the lake:
1. Lake Tahoe is the highest alpine lake in the U.S. and the second largest alpine lake in the world.
2. Lake Tahoe has a surface elevation of 6,229 ft, is 22 miles long, 12 miles wide and has a shoreline 71 miles in length.
3. Lake Tahoe is the second deepest lake in the United States and the tenth deepest in the world. With a surface area of 193 sq. mi., a maximum depth of over 1,600 feet (wow!) and an average depth of 989 feet, the total capacity of Lake Tahoe is 122,160,280 acre-ft (39 trillion gallons) of water!!
4. Surface lake temperatures range from 68 ° F in the summer, to 41 ° F during the winter.
5. Lake Tahoe has a water clarity of about 70 ft (21 m) deep. So, you could essentially place a white dinner plate 70 ft deep and see it from the surface level.
We LOVE Lake Tahoe. I really hope we go back to go skiing. It's the perfect place to vacation...sandy beaches, sun, boating and other lake activities, mountains surrounding with tons of hiking trails, mountain biking, tons of snow ski resorts, cute little ski resort-like towns with shops and restaurants, campgrounds, beautiful hotels. Too bad there's not a university there that Bryce can work for! Maybe someday we can go back and go snow skiing.

Those stand up paddle board things are so popular! We've seen them all over the place out here. I even saw some young guys that rode them to a restaurant cafe on the lake, and then rode them back to who knows where when they finished getting their food.

For the two days we were there, we mostly walked around, took pictures, ate picnic lunches, sat in pretty parks/beaches relaxing. These public parks along the lake with beaches were so nice!

Can you tell that I love taking pictures of marinas? I love the look of all the boats sitting there in the water.
The night before we left, we went out to a nice dinner. I finally got to wear a dress on our vacation! We went to Sunnyside Restaurant on the lake. It was really good. Apparently they have a fancy dining room inside, and then a grille restaurant and bar outside on the dock. I called and made reservations, and it was for the fancy restaurant inside. I didn't realize they were separate. The food was delicious either way!

Oh, and we played Putt Putt Golf. Bryce calls it "Goofy Golf." We felt like such nerds, but it was fun! Bryce beat me. Multiply his score by 2 and that's around what I got.

And if you know him, you know that he is very precise. He diligently kept the exact score. (Note the tongue out. Concentration)
