Carmel-by-the-Sea

We had SUCH a fun time in Carmel. (called both Carmel and Carmel-by-the-Sea) It was one of my Mom's absolute favorite places in the world. It's just a cute little town, a few blocks away from a beautiful beach, shops, restaurants, pedestrian and bike friendly, and within view of famous Pebble Beach/Golf course. It's really quaint, very similar to a small European town, a lot of courtyards and cute corners and buildings. There are tons of bed and breakfasts and small little inns. We stayed at the Carmel Crystal Bay Inn. It was all we expected and more, plus a nice rest before going out in the back country hiking and camping.

We walked around the beach and admired the pristine golf course above on the rolling grassy hills.

I loved all the different trees.

Then we walked around town and took a lot of pictures.

We went out to dinner at Mission Ranch, Clint Eastwood's restaurant. (Little known fact: Clint Eastwood lives at Pebble Beach and was the mayor of Carmel for a term back in the 80s.)

Then we bought a couple of chocolates and a mini bottle of champagne and watched the sunset at the beach.

And we watched the surfers catch waves.

you kids have visited some of the very places Carol and I fell in love with many years ago. You sat by the cypress tree on the Carmel beach where mom and I would go, sit, hold hands, sip white wine, eat cheese, and SF sourdough bread and even think how many children would we like to have when the time came. Thank you for sharing. Today Aug 6th is mom's and my 33rd. love you guys.
