I was most excited for them to just see what our life is like here. A few weeks before they got here, I planned most of the trip. We wanted to show them as much as possible but also have some time to simply hang out together. The day they arrived, we ate lunch, played with the kids, and took a walk around Bulach.
The next day, we celebrated Christmas (we waited to do our gifts until they got here). We spent all morning playing with new toys.
In the afternoon, we drove into Zurich, walked around, and went out to dinner. All the Christmas lights and trees were still up around the city which made for a beautiful walk as it got dark.

Zurich is a beautiful city, but it's amazing around Christmas time at night. We had a really good time just walking around the old town. The streets were pretty quiet, church bells rang, the lights hung over streets, and some snow left on the ground from the last snowfall.
We walked down Bahnhofstrasse and I couldn't stop thinking about my two very stylish little sisters-Amy and Amanda-as we passed these beautiful store window displays.
Going out to dinner was even enjoyable with more hands to hold and entertain little ones. Hooray for grandparents!! It's hard living so far from family. I know that it seems greener on the other side, but man, how amazing it would be to live close to grandparents who would love to babysit or help every now and then. I just can't even fathom how great that would be for everyone. We really loved having this time with them. I hope that we can live close one day!
