I was most excited to take them to Mürren. It may be my favorite. But really, it's hard to choose here in Switzerland. It might be the cleanest, most beautiful country I've been. Of course, the USA is a tough competitor with so much variety (Really, think about it, the Grand Canyon, to Big Sur, the Rocky Mountains, I could go on but I'll just stop). But Switzerland tops everywhere for cleanliness. If you're a germaphobe who wants to travel, come to Switzerland.
Back to Mürren. We took the cable cars all the way up to the top-the
Schilthorn. It was our first time, with it being expensive.
That's right. We have helmets and goggles on because WE WENT SKIING! Well, Bryce went snowboarding. This is a miracle. I think it was the first time we had time just the two of us since...before Carter was born. I think it was 9 months since we had any kind of "date" without a child in tow. After we all went to the top, took the necessary pictures, we parted ways.

| Seriously, this first run from the top was narrow with cliffs on either side. |
We skiied down from the top (truth be told, I was terrified of the black hill at the very top so I took the cable car back one stop down). I think it had been 4 years since I've been skiing. Then we met them for lunch back in Mürren only to see that Maddie was sound asleep and Carter was happy in the backpack on Papa's back.
Lunch was unreal with the views. Mürren is so gorgeous.

| An amazing burger that I wish I had ordered. |
We went up another side of the mountain for a couple more runs and then called it a day. I felt like a new woman after having a break from kids and it was a huge bonus that I got to spend time with my husband!
Your posts are incredible and can't wait to go back to Switzerland. Keep posting. Your children get more beautiful
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty place to ski! I would have freaked out though - I'm not very good at snowboarding, and that looks super scary. Glad you got to have some time away from kids!
