I brought this gal home to Blacksburg with me last Thanksgiving, and finally brought her out to try my hand at sewing. Seeing as how it took me this long to try and sew, it shows how hesitant I was! I don't know why, but sewing seems really intimidating!
On a recent trip to Charlotte to visit Amy, I found this beautiful fabric and made a little pillow...
And since our realtors never fixed the closet door, I made curtains to cover it...
But didn't like how they looked, and I didn't want the clips on the rings showing, so I did some more sewing. I added pinch pleat tape to them...
Once sewn, I tightened the tape so that it pleated...
Then I sewed each pleat...
And after hemming the bottom, I'll have finished curtains. (They were also made out of canvas drop cloths. I wanted it to look a little rustic like linen, but I didn't want to pay for that much nice fabric!)
i love it! and i love using drop clothes as curtains-they are the perfect weight & color! :)
